Description

Help administer student surveys at middle schools in the Mobile County Public School System. We need help processing students as they access computer surveys, monitoring/proctoring the room while students take surveys, helping students as they line up to sign out and receive incentives, distribute/pack up materials.

These surveys are part of a multi-year research project on how to reduce youth violence and suicidality. Surveys take place over a two week period, and there are three two-week periods per school year. Most volunteer opportunities will be in September, December, and March/April.

All volunteers must complete an online training (CITI Program on research ethics) which takes between 3-4 hours (but does not have to be completed all at once). Volunteers must also provide information to the University of South Alabama Human Resources office in order to pass a background check. More information on both of these will be provided to you when you contact the SOAR program to get involved.
