USA Archaeology Museum Volunteers Needed for Alabama Archaeology Day
When: Sat. Oct. 5, open to the public 10 am - 3 pm
Volunteers needed for set up and break down, 9 am -3:30 pm
Lunch (pizza) is provided around noon. Bottled water and refill stations available.
Volunteers are needed to assist monitoring the Museum Gallery and Art exhibit and at various activity stations in the Native Plants Garden and Archaeology Lab support. These include atlatl throwing (precursor to the bow & arrow-like a javelin), helping with other outdoor games, taking photos/videos in general of the event (any influencers out there?), taking photos in the photo op area, 3D Imaging demonstration area support, a sidewalk chalk area, as well as an indoor children's art space support.
Please email Jen (jenknutson@southalabama.edu) with your choice of what you would like to do especially if you would like to take photo/video at this event. Otherwise, let her know when you arrive. Students often switch activities throughout the day so they get to experience them all! Teams and partial hours are absolutely fine, just set up (9-10 am) and break down (3:30ish pm) support is too.
