It's short notice but we will be out in the Africatown Cemetery this Saturday, May 25 for Historic Preservation Day documenting the cemetery from 10 am until 12 pm. Please park at the old Welcome Center Parking Lot across the street as the roadway is in poor shape. Liability forms will be on site to sign.

Previous Information: Volunteers are needed on Monday, January 15, 2024 for a Dr. MLK, Jr. Day of Service documenting the Africatown/Plateau Cemetery from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. We will meet in the parking lot across the street from the cemetery located at 459 Bay Bridge Road, Mobile, Alabama 36610. Volunteers should bring a cell phone or tablet so that they can use an app that has been already set up to input cemetery marker information. Instructions and assistance will be provided on site. Please wear South gear (if you have it) as well as comfortable clothing and shoes that are appropriate for the weather. Volunteers can sign-in and out at the event.
