Description

Volunteers are needed on Sunday February, 18th for a Black History Month Day of Service documenting the Old Plateau Cemetery from 2:00pm-4:00pm. We will meet in the parking lot across the street from the cemetery located at 459 Bay Bridge Road, Mobile, Alabama 36610. Volunteers should bring a cell phone and/or tablet so that they can use an app that has been already set up to input cemetery marker information. Instructions and assistance will be provided on site. This event is one of the first commemorative occasions where the University of South Alabama as well as all affiliated members can strengthen their connection with the city of Mobile. We believe that this special opportunity to help students on and off campus can be a catalyst to new opportunities and achievements for our students and the South Alabama community as a whole. Please wear South gear (if you have it) as well as comfortable clothing and shoes that are appropriate for the weather. Volunteers can sign-in and out at the event. Please remember to bring signed copy of the liability release form. Please email any questions to Adrianna Caffey, Diversity and Community Engagement Director at sga@southalabama.edu or Channing Evans, Financial Director of Jaguar Productions at jptreasurer@southalabama.edu.
