"Walk a mile in her shoes" is a metaphorical expression that encourages empathy and understanding. The phrase suggests that one should try to understand another person's perspective, feelings, or experiences by imagining oneself in their situation. This April Title IX will be hosting a Walk a Mile in Her Shoes race on campus. Since 2001, this event has gained much attention, and involvement and we plan to bring this phenomenon to South Alabama. Walk a mile in her shoes was created to allow men the chance to walk a mile in a pair of high heels, while confronting gender stereotypes.
So get ready to create your team, and join us as we continue to spread awareness, create a safe space to talk about sexualized violence and inspire self-reflection and change!
