Our signature annual fundraising event, Food & Folly brings the spirit of Mobile's carnival season to the fall. Attendees enjoy cuisine samples from local restaurants, live music by the legendary Excelsior Band, wine, craft beer and spirits tastings, a silent auction, wine pull, and much more! This year's event, our 14th annual, is planned for Thursday, September 21, at 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Fort Whiting Auditorium in Mobile.
As a volunteer for Food & Folly, you will assist with the overall success of the event and your enthusiastic participation will help create a positive and memorable experience for attendees. Volunteers for the event are needed for the following roles:
- Registration and Guest Services: Greet event attendees, facilitate the registration process, and provide them with necessary information about the event schedule, table numbers and help distribute complimentary wine/beer glasses.
- Silent Auction Support: Help monitor the silent auction, including explaining the bidding process to guests (done online) and assisting with the smooth execution of the auction and check out at the end of the event.
- Beverage Tasting Assistance: Aid in serving beverage tastings to guests (pouring wine or craft beer) and sharing tasting notes (will be provided).
- Event Breakdown: Assist in the post-event clean-up, including clearing tables, packing up materials, carrying items out of the event venue and ensuring the event venue is left in good condition.
All event volunteers will attend the event at no cost, having a chance to sample delicious cuisine! For all roles other than Event Breakdown, you are required to be 21 or older (must show ID).
