Do you enjoy looking at, talking about and making art? We are looking for community and student volunteers to assist with our youth art summer camps. Volunteers will be assisting the art teacher in art material preparation and set up each day, working with the students in an encouraging and safe environment, aide in keeping students on task in a fun creative way, volunteers will also assist in classroom cleanup at end of shift. This is a creative visual arts camp for students ages 5 - 18.
This is a 1 hour training session to provide volunteers with information needed and expectations in working with children in an art classroom setting. Training will include a tour of the museum education school and classrooms, an outline of summer camp times and dates with expectations on classroom preparation and clean up. This is a required training for anyone interested in volunteering with the Mobile Museum of Art Education Department.
Summer camp volunteers assist the art teacher on site with any art material preparation and clean up needed for the class. If you enjoy creative expression and working with children we would love to hear from you!
Volunteers do not have to commit to the entire camp duration, although you are welcome to do so if your schedule permits. If you have a preference for which days you'd like to volunteer, please include that information in the "Notes" field of your need response. You can also state a preference for volunteering from 9 AM - 1 PM or 1 - 4 PM
