For Mobile Baykeeper, our racers, race sponsors, and the community, the Grandman serves to showcase Mobile Bay and encourage a healthy lifestyle that incorporates swimming, fishing, and playing in those beautiful waters. We love hosting the Grandman and sponsors love supporting the race as an incredible way for Coastal Alabama to come together and work toward the goal of protecting and preserving Mobile Bay. We could not put this event on without the support of our volunteers and their time and service.
We will need volunteers for stuffing packet pickups, Course Setup on Friday, May 21st & Race day on May 22nd. On the Form Submission, it will ask you if you have experience volunteering for this event before such as; swim safety/support, traffic assistance, water stations, course set up, etc. We will be sending periodic emails updating volunteers on the next steps toward the finish line. We will also be sending more details about the job responsibilities and dates on virtual training closer to May.
Also, if you/family/friends are licensed motorcyclists or open water certified lifeguards, please note that on the comment section of the form submission. Lifeguards/traffic assistance is the hardest and longest volunteer spot to fill.
