Volunteer readers are needed for John Will Elementary School's Dr. Seuss Day.
Dr. Seuss Day will take place on March 2, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and volunteers may read to more than one class if they wish, or even an entire grade level (rotating from class to class). Volunteers are also free to leave after reading to their assigned class/classes/group.
Volunteers may bring their own grade/age/topic/length-appropriate books to read aloud, or utilize the Dr. Seuss books that will be available for check-out in the library media center. The school library is located near the front entrance and can be seen from the front door. For read-alouds, picture books that are not too wordy work best. Also, volunteers are welcome to dress up as Dr. Seuss characters if they'd like, but that isn't required.
Important note: Parking is available in the front of the school and in the staff parking lot. If volunteers park in the front, they need to be aware of the School's dismissal time; parents begin to line up around 2:30 p.m. Volunteers are required to check in at the front office with a state-issued ID such as a driver's license. Volunteers should then go to the library media center to get sign the volunteer log and get any additional information about the day's events.
