Who We Are
For 26 years we have been Mobile's only non-profit dedicated solely to the health & accessibility of Dog River and its tributaries. Our focus is to create an environment where families, children, citizens, workers, and visitors work and play in a clean, safe and accessible Dog River.
What We Do
DRCR designs, implements and monitors projects that improve the environmental health of Mobile's unique riverine estuary. We provide volunteer opportunities to help improve the water quality of Mobile urban river through a variety of programs/projects. We hold events targeted to getting more people on and around the River like a 5k run over the river's convergence with Mobile Bay or an annual paddle along the Dog River Scenic Blueway; we participate in educational events; sponsor marine and land based cleanups; train and oversee citizen scientists who monitor the quality of our urban waters; and work with City and County leaders to address all forms of pollution in our waters.
