What We Do

Mobile Area Community Action Committee, Inc., a non-profit organization, was established on July 20, 1966. The purpose was to eliminate the paradox of poverty in the midst of abundance in the greater Mobile area, and to join with other areas of Alabama and the United States, in a concerted effort to eliminate poverty.

Mobile Area Community Action Committee, Inc.is opened to everyone the opportunity for education, training, and the opportunity to live in decency and dignity. Later, the agency became Mobile Community Action, Inc. (MCA), serving both Mobile and Washington counties.

MCA serves the Mobile and Washington Counties with Head Start, Early Head Start, CSBG, LIHEAP, GED, Nutrition, Utility Assistance and multiple local government funded programs.
