Who We Are

The Office of Community Affairs (CA) serves as the mayor's point of contact responsible for managing relationships with all levels of government, community partners, and City of Mobile residents. Community Affairs works to improve and enhance the delivery of services to all citizens through coordination, program development, advocacy, and resource mobilization. 

Our Mission: 

Committed to building and establishing strategic relationships/partnerships to support key community initiatives, facilitate programs, and conduct outreach that benefits the residents of Mobile 

What We Do

Community Affairs works to ensure the availability of services to city residents by advocating appropriate action and outreach, by searching for new sources of engagement. Community Affairs does not provide any direct services but fosters a network of partnerships to meet the needs of the citizens. Additional initiatives include but are not limited to:

  • Attend community meetings and meet with citizens to keep them informed of City services and changes. 
  • Provide community crisis intervention.
  • network with social service agencies, communities, businesses, and religious organizations, to promote cooperation, creative initiatives and involvement with the City of Mobile. 
  • Develop Community outreach projects to support and advocate for a higher quality of life for all residents of the City of Mobile.
