Who We Are

The purpose of the Black Alumni Society (BAS) is to work cooperatively with the Alumni Association to foster and maintain an active relationship between alumni, students, friends and the University and to develop an image that ensures the integrity and principles of the University through active participation.

What We Do

Black Alumni Society Pillars:

Community Engagement: Focused support in Mobile County communities such as Prichard, Trinity Gardens, Toulminville, and Hillsdale.

Networking and Mentoring: Focused in predominantly black schools in Mobile County. Encouraging meaningful relationships between students, alumni, faculty, staff, administration and community.

Scholarship Support: Provide funding to SOLID; Outstanding Black Men and Black Girls Rock; Jaguar Edition scholarship programs; and Academic and Need-based high school, undergraduate and graduate Black Alumni Society Scholarships.
