The 2023 Friends of the Mobile Public Library Book Sale takes place on the last weekend in March at the Abba Shrine Center (7701 Hitt Rd.). Volunteers are needed to help in advance of the sale, during the sale, and cleanup after the event beginning on Monday, March 20 through Tuesday, March 28. A variety of volunteer shifts are available. Please sign up for as many as you are able to commit to (if you are only available for a part of a shift(s), mark any that are applicable).
Many of the volunteer duties require physical labor. However, if an individual is interested in volunteering, but cannot perform physical labor, there are other kinds of non-physical volunteer duties available. Below is a list of volunteer duties:
- Lifting, moving, and opening boxes of books.
- Sorting books.
- Stacking empty boxes.
- Straightening and displaying books.
- Tallying customers books for purchase.
- Helping customers carry boxes of books to their car.
- Tossing trash or unusable books.
- Packing books in boxes for move out.
