Horse leaders are in charge of the horses before, during and after each therapeutic lesson. During a therapeutic lesson, leaders provide safety and control the horse if needed. While they do not always directly interact with the student that is riding, they act as advocates on behalf of the animal. They are watching for changes in behavior and mood.
