The Department of Campus Recreation would like to invite you to participate in our annual Holiday Havoc Philanthropy on Sunday, December 9th from 3p to 5p. This year, we've invited 180 children, 1st through 5th grade, to the Student Recreation Center for a day of holiday-themed games with the students, staff, and faculty of the University of South Alabama. At the end of the event, the children receive a gift delivered by Rec Santa!
Here's how you can help!
1) Sign up a 4 person team here. Once you sign up a team to participate, drop your gift worth $20 off at the Student Recreation Center before Wednesday, December 5th. Then on Sunday, December 9th at 3:00p come out and have a good time! [You can RESPOND here so we know you are going to serve, then later you can +ADD HOURS and this Volunteer Opportunity can be listed on your South Serves Resume. You need to go to the sign up link listed above to register your 4 person team, too. -- South Serves Manager]
2) Donate a gift without signing up a team by simply dropping a gift at the Student Recreation Center and signing the gift in at the front desk.
I have also added some gift ideas that have been popular with the children in our past Holiday Havoc events. The gifts can be for a boy or girl in each age group or a gift that can be appropriate for either gender.
5-6 years old gift ideas: Big Trucks, Hot Wheels sets, any current doll or Barbie doll sets.
7-9 years old: Scooters, Nerf Guns, Hot Wheels Sets, The doll heads with make-up for girls.
10-12 years old: Gift Cards with a bag of candy or something small they can open, Nerf Guns, Slime Kits.
