Faculty/Staff who are helping with the Health & Wellness Area at Project Homeless Connect are invited to "RESPOND" to this need. You will need to be at the event from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 or 3:00 p.m. that day. Lunch is provided.
IMPORTANT:
- All activity participants are required to sign two waivers, which will be available electronically when you "RESPOND" to this need. As you read and/or sign each page of the waiver packet, be sure to click the blue "SUBMIT PAGE AND PROCEED" button in the bottom left corner to save your edits/progress and proceed to the subsequent page.
- After you've electronically signed the waiver, click the blue RESPOND button for this Need a second time to complete your registration.
- In the Note section of your Response, please list your cell phone number so that we can communicate more easily during the event. Please also list your preference of jobs 1, 2,3, 4, or 5 from those listed below, or contact Pam Johnson at pamjohnson@southalabama.edu.
- Navigators/volunteers are wearing RED shirts; most Health Clinic volunteers are wearing scrubs or lab coats.
Volunteer assignment options:
- Assessment Table Assistant. Coordinate at round tables where client/navigator pairs sit to complete release forms and a portion of the assessment packet. Once paperwork is completed, direct pairs to the Height/Weight/BMI/BG Station. (2 volunteer needed)
- Faculty Oversight for Height/Weight/BMI/BG Station. (1 volunteer needed)
- Room Assignment Table Assistant. Maintain a list of who is next to be served and direct client pairs to open assessment rooms. (1 volunteer needed)
- Assessment Room Hall Monitor. Role is to monitor two assessment rooms and to encourage IPEC interaction and roles with students in rooms. Need to be familiar with documentation and resources/referrals. ** Check paperwork for completeness before client pair leaves assessment rooms. (7 volunteers needed)
- Floater and Navigator Assistant. In the Main Hall, where navigators wait to be assigned a client, faculty/staff are needed to relay information to other areas, troubleshoot any issues that might arise, and oversee students, encouraging nice/respectful behavior and correcting behavior if needed (no cell phone usage, keeping noise level down). (2 volunteers needed)
