Assist immigrant adults and young adults with speaking conversational English on Wednesday evenings from 7:15 PM to 8:30 PM. We follow the Mobile County Public School System calendar.
We communicate with volunteers via Whatsapp, so after responding to this need, please download this app and text Juan Torres at 251-656-4953 to be added to the group chat. Our meeting location sometimes changes so this can be confirmed in the Whatsapp group chat.
BELONG provides immigrant families with receive numerous services. When children come for homework help, their parents also come to learn basic English.
NOTE: Volunteers are not required to speak Spanish! Students benefit from hearing non-Spanish speakers too.
