Love Your Community: Volunteer & Internship Fair
Noon to 2pm, Student Center Ballroom
Come and meet over 30 nonprofit and governmental organizations from throughout Mobile County at USA's first Volunteer & Internship Fair. Beginning at 11 a.m. students can attend a presentation by three organizations (Alabama Coastal Foundation, Dumas Wesley and Big Brothers, Big Sisters) that will provide in-depth information about their work and the benefits of volunteering and interning as a student.
From noon to 2 p.m. the Student Center Ballroom will be filled with organizations who will be available to discuss the work of their organizations, any opportunities for volunteerism and internships, and make suggestions about the process of pursuing a nonprofit/service oriented career path.
This event is a collaborative effort between the Office of Community Engagement, Career Services, the Office of Multicultural Affairs, and Jag Success. Our goal for this event is to help students who attend to:
- Learn about volunteer and career opportunities in nonprofit organizations.
- Identify specific volunteer/ internship/employment opportunities available through nonprofit organizations.
- Learn about the many ways that volunteerism and internships through nonprofit organizations can help build skills and support career development.
