Who We Are

The Mobile County Commission's Animal Services Department is responsible for both Animal Control (ensures that state animal laws are followed outside municipal jurisdictions) and the Mobile County Animal Shelter. The Shelter team strives for positive outcomes. Annually, for more than six years, over 90% of the animals that come to Mobile County Animal Shelter have been adopted, rescued, or returned to their owners.

What We Do

Adopt or foster a shelter pet or volunteer with Mobile County Animal Shelter. More than 1,000 animals come to the Mobile County Animal Shelter annually. Many of the animals are either stray, abused animals, or animals of owners in violation of State or Local laws. The Animal Shelter's primary responsibilities include the daily intake, processing, cleaning, and care of the animals, as well as facilitating adoptions, owner reclaims, partnering with the community and established 501 c (3), rescue groups, lost/found assistance, and promoting pet adoptions. Please Opt-To-Adopt! There is nothing more loving or loyal than a shelter pet.
