Who We Are
Our local program is highlighted each year with our marquee Track and Field event that showcases over 400 Special Olympians from the Mobile area competing in a wide variety of events ranging from 4/100 relays to shot put and javelin. Each May the Mobile Area sends a delegation to the State Special Olympics in Troy, AL to compete in Track and Field, Bowling, Bocce, Equestrian, Swimming, Gymnastics and Cheerleading.
What We Do
Mobile Area Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
