Help the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama get our Club youth excited about physical health and fitness by volunteering at our National Fitness Competition! The competition is designed to help Club youth to engage in physical literacy, and to create physical and fun activities to promote fitness, fun, and healthy lifestyles!
Hosted Mardi Gras Park and sponsored by the Jake Peavy Foundation, young people will participate in a friendly competition against each other in multiple physical activities. Our goal is to have our youth strive for improvement, build intrinsic motivation, confidence, and physical competence—thus enhancing the culture of wellness in our Club and the community.
We are looking for volunteers to help operate and run stations like the push-up and sit up stations; time races; and man the membership table.
If you are interested, please give our Volunteer Coordinator, Lily Blazina, a call at 432-1235, or e-mail her at lblazina@bgcsouthal.org. Thank you!
