If your agency uses or would like to use Volunteer Connect and/or South Serves to recruit volunteers and track their service hours, this workshop is for you. Join trainers from United Way of Southwest Alabama and the University of South Alabama as we help you to strengthen your use of these systems to grow your volunteer base and keep track of volunteer activities.
Space is limited to twenty participants, so be sure and RSVP today. Contact Brad Martin at bmartin@uwswa.org or Lindsay Lum at llum@uwswa.org if you have any difficulty doing so. Note: You must be logged into Volunteer Connect (or South Serves) to register for this training; if you don't have a login, let us know so we can help you.
In this workshop, you will:
- Learn or review the basics of the Volunteer Connect software
- Understand the relationship between Volunteer Connect and South Serves
- Get tips and tricks for crafting effective volunteer recruitment messages
- Learn how to assist volunteers in tracking their service hours, and how to make that information work for your organization
Before you arrive:
- Please make sure that you know your login information for Volunteer Connect or South Serves--whichever system you use to manage your volunteer needs. This is the same login information you will use to register for this workshop.
- If you have current volunteer needs or events to enter into the system, please bring the relevant information with you. You'll have opportunities to fine tune your message and put it into the system during the workshop.
- If you don't have any active needs to enter, come anyway. You can be part of the working group and help others craft their messages to effectively recruit for their needs.
We're really excited to see you and to work with you to improve volunteer recruitment and management efforts in our community.
